PUB LOG provides the user with five National Stock Number (NSN) searchable products and two publications in single downloadable .zip package.

  • Proprietary Data
  • North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Data

PUB LOG provides all non-restricted, non-proprietary Federal Logistics Data to all authorized users such as:

  • United States (U.S.) Government
  • Foreign Military Sales (FMS)
  • Other foreign national customers
  • Private Sector customers including manufacturers and vendors

There was previously a $20 monthly charge to cover productions and distribution of the legacy DVD product.  Now that PUB LOG has transitioned to an exclusively downloadable format, it is available free of charge to all customers. 


The content of the legacy DVDs and the PUB LOG downloads are the same.  Once extracted the download includes all of the data, executable files and documentation previously provided by the DVD product.

H-Series consists of five Supply Handbook Publications; each one is represented on a separate tab. The five publications are:

  • H2, Federal Supply Classification (FSC)
  • H3, DOD Ammunition Codes
  • H4/H8, Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Codes
  • H5, Corporate Complex Data
  • H6, Federal Item Name Directory (FIND)
No, the FLIS tab allows the user to search through all non-restricted National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and their associated supply data located in FLIS. The FLIS Procedures Manual provides guidance for cataloging transactions.

CHAR stands for Characteristics. The CHAR tab provides the Characteristics Data that describes the National Stock Number (NSN). This includes:

  • Item Name
  • Environmental Attribute Codes (ENACs)
  • Master Requirement Code (MRC)
  • Requirement Statement and the Clear Text Reply for each NSN
MGMT stands for the Management Data Interchangeability and Substitutability (MDIS). The Management Data (MD) portion of PUB LOG is designed to provide users with supply management data on all National Stock Numbers (NSNs) recorded in the Catalog Management Data (CMD) section of the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS). The Interchangeability and Substitutability (I&S) portion provides a reference source for determining the interchangeability and/or substitutability of items of supply.

MCRD stands for Master Cross Reference Data. The MCRD tab provides:

  • National Stock Numbers (NSNs)
  • Reference numbers
  • Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Codes cross-referenced to each other, supplemented with related data
DEMIL stands for Demilitarization. The DEMIL 1 tab consists of National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and associated data. The DEMIL 2 tab consists of additional demilitarization coding required for turn-in and disposal instructions of equipment and supplies.

The FLIS Procedures Manual (.pdf format) is accessed from the Folders menu at the top of the FLIS Interactive Query screen. It provides all logistics and supply coding, with definitions, found in FLIS.

Search Batch allows users to run larger queries than the Interactive Query. Using Search Batch, users can also export all data from the DVD to a server on a computer network. For further information, refer to the PUB LOG manual located under the Help menu within PUB LOG.

Yes, an SQL capability exists in PUB LOG. The SQL tab is located on the far right of the PUB LOG Interactive Query screen.

Yes, at the top of the PUB LOG screen is a Help menu. A drop down menu of three choices is available:

  • Context Help
  • News (the Quick Start Guide)
  • Manual
