65th Infantry ‘Borinqueneers’ honored at annual heritage event

The Defense Federal Community honored a unique military unit during its annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration Oct. 2. The observance commemorated the historical contributions of the U.S. Army’s 65th Infantry Regiment – a unit comprised mainly of Hispanic Soldiers and known as the Borinqueneers for its Puerto Rican roots.

The DLA PaCE graduation marked the end of one path and the start of another for nine graduates in Battle Creek, Michigan. While most of the PaCE graduates fill various roles around the world for DLA upon graduation, Group 34 is unique. The entire class is graduating from and entering positions in Battle Creek.
