Carter G. Woodson nominees announced

The Defense Supply Center Columbus has named the 2020 Carter G. Woodson Award nominees. The annual award recognizes two individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the African American community – one each from the Central Ohio community and the Defense Federal community. Past recipients include former Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty and Charles Tennant, the founder of Columbus’ Africentric School.

Still moving forward DSCC honors King's legacy

Members of the Columbus Defense Federal Community gathered inside the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Operations Center Auditorium Jan. 15 to celebrate the birthday and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event “Still Moving Forward,” presented as part of the Equal Employment Opportunity Office African American Employment Program, featured Army Maj. Gen. John C. Harris Jr., the Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard as the keynote speaker.

Boggs Out- DLA Land and Maritime People and Culture Director Retires

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime People and Culture Director Robert L. Boggs, Ph.d, retired Dec. 11 after more than 48 years of combined civil and military service with the Department of Defense. Retiring as a director of a department within DLA Land and Maritime, Boggs held a variety of command and staff assignments during his military and civilian careers. His military career included a final assignment as the Deputy Adjutant General for the Ohio Air National Guard, and he also served more than four years as the Chief of Staff for the Ohio Air National Guard

December to bring building access changes

On Dec. 1, the Defense Supply Center Columbus will change the way individuals will access buildings. In keeping with Department of Defense directives to move to one card for access, DSCC Security and Emergency Services will be deactivating the LENEL building badges currently being used for building access. After this date, DSCC personnel will use their Common Access Card for building or room access.

Defense Supply Center Columbus associates took part in the Central Ohio Veterans Day Parade Nov. 8 to kick off a weekend of festivities honoring our nation’s veterans. The theme of this year’s celebration, The Greatest Generation, recognized World War II veterans and included several World War II-era floats and displays.
