Fuels Airmen: the foundation of 86th AW’s mission

It keeps us warm during the winter, cooks our food, and ensures transportation gets us from point A to point B. But no matter how far we technologically advance, we will always need fuel.

DLA Pathways to Career Excellence Program graduate Dec. 13 during a ceremony at DLA Troop Support in Philadelphia. The 56 graduates completed the two-year training program through on-the-job assignments, cross-training, rotational assignments and formal training.

Graduates on right pathway to career in warfighter support

PHILADELPHIA — More than 50 participants in DLA's Pathways to Career Excellence Program took the next step to a successful career during their graduation ceremony in Philadelphia Dec. 13.

Face of Defense: Sailor Serves as ‘Sheriff of Mess Decks’

RED SEA — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Department of Defense website — Four times a day, the USS Whidbey Island mess decks are filled with a hungry crew and a well-trained staff. Nearly incomprehensible amounts of food are eaten and restocked, yet, without fail the staff has the place looking clean and ready to go again minutes after each torrent fades.

Israeli general officer, logistics chief visits DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The general officer in charge of logistics for the Israel Defense Forces visited the largest distribution center in the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution network Dec. 6.

Marine Corps Systems Command Combat Support Systems Equipment Exchange Initiative is exploring new ways to get Marines the equipment they need faster. 18th Munitions Squadron Conducts TARRP

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Kadena Air Base website — Forklifts are driven to and fro in a warehouse as cargo is transported to pallets and readied for the long trip ahead. Airmen work quickly to tie down the cargo and as levers crank straps taught, and the package is secured, another forklift appears with another package and the Airmen start the process again – like clockwork.

Operation Christmas Drop volunteers pack boxes Dec. 3, 2016, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Over 200 volunteers packed clothes, rice, fish hooks, school supplies and more to be dropped over 50 islands throughout the Pacific.
