The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support continues working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture on the Summer Food Service Program. This year, a record $6.7 million is allocated for the program, up from $460,000 last year, and more states have joined than ever before.

Subsistence, USDA partnership sets new high for schools receiving fresh produce

When the Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program started in 1995, school districts in only eight states signed on with the partnership effort. By the end of fiscal 2019, the DOD Fresh program has grown to include districts nationwide, reaching record numbers of participants at the start of this school year.
