Richmond employees participates in assistive technology conference

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency 508 Compliance Program Office employees Noel Romey, information technology specialist and Christina Larsen, DLA 508 program manager, DLA Information Operations , who work at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, attended the 32nd California State University, Northridge, Assistive Technology Conference, March 1 – 3, in San Diego to learn about the latest technology to assist handicap employees.

Vehicles from the Army’s 25th Infantry Division are arriving at DLA Disposition Services site at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to begin the disposal process.

Humvees rolling into Pacific sites

As the Army’s divestiture of excess vehicles continues, two DLA Disposition Services sites in the Pacific region are taking in large numbers of tactical vehicles.

Marine acquisition leaders explore expanding DLA support during visit

PHILADELPHIA — Two leaders from Marine Corps Systems Command, the service’s acquisition authority, visited Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support April 5 to learn how the agency could expand support in equipping Marines.

Susquehanna’s first female senior enlisted leader departs as first Marine comes onboard

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The April 5 Change of Responsibility ceremony between Army 1st Sgt. Janine Burr and Marine Master Sgt. Bryan Alberts was historic for two reasons: the DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, community was bidding farewell to the organization’s first female senior enlisted advisor as it welcomed its first Marine to serve the position.

DLA leadership has made prevention of and response to sexual assault a top priority.

Agency program advocates for victims of sexual assault

DLA offers full-time, trained personnel to help victims of sexual assault, along with other resources.

DLA Distribution’s 25th distribution center, the Expeditionary Team is currently deployed in support of Operation Pacific Reach. The team works to set up one of the deployable warehouses, complete with Distribution Standard System.

Distribution’s Expeditionary Team supports Operation Pacific Reach

POHANG, South Korea — DLA Distribution’s 25th distribution center, the Expeditionary Team is currently deployed in support of Operation Pacific Reach, which is an exercise conducted every other year. This year’s exercise is being held from April 10 through April 21 at Dogu Beach in Pohang, South Korea. The Expeditionary Team consists of 19 total personnel, 17 civilians and two military.

Defense Supply Center Columbus hosted an information fair to kick off Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. DLA Land and Maritime sexual assault response coordinator Shari Murnahan helped organize the April 5 event to promote activities taking place during the month at DSCC.

Katrina Leverette, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s sexual assault response coordinator or SARC, kicked off Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month with a resource fair at the Center Restaurant April 5 on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Defense Logistics Agency Information Operations provides scanning services for all types and sizes of documents, and converts paper archives into an easily retrievable digital format.
