COLUMBUS, Ohio — Air Force Maj. Gen. David Sanford made his first trip to Defense Supply Center Columbus since being tapped earlier this summer as the Defense Logistics Agency’s director of logistics operations and commander of Joint Regional Combat Support.

Product Test Lab verifies conformance of COVID-19 supplies, military gear

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — A Defense Logistics Agency laboratory known for burning boots, crushing helmets and ripping combat uniforms is also putting COVID-19 surgical gowns through 25 cycles of wash – all in the name of safety and product conformance.

DLA Troop Support’s PTC Analytical hosts tours, promotes knowledge

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Product Test Center Analytical hosted tours for DLA Headquarters counsel and junior Navy sailors April 3 in Philadelphia. The event helped educate partners and customers on the scientific testing employees do in support of the warfighter.

The sole of a military-issue boot is ripped apart by the Product Test Center-Analytical Instron tensile tester. Using the interchangeable jaws of the machine, footwear can be tested to ensure the soles have the proper bond strength and won’t separate under field conditions.

Product Test Center Analytical realigns with Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — It was a "common sense" decision to realign the Product Test Center Analytical with DLA Troop Support, Navy Rear Adm. Michelle Skubic, DLA Land and Maritime commander, said. The center has been testing materials warfighters need since 1919.
