Distribution supports Operation Pacific Reach

DLA Distribution’s 25th distribution center, the Expeditionary Team with the support from a DLA Distribution Korea team deployed in support of Operation Pacific Reach, which is an exercise conducted every other year. This year’s exercise was held from April 10 through April 21 at Dogu Beach in Pohang, South Korea.

DLA Distribution practices the Continuity of Operations Plan

In keeping with the efforts to strengthen preparedness capabilities, the Continuity of Operations planners of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution recently took the Emergency Relocation Group to an alternate work site. Federal Continuity Directive 1, dated October 26, 2012, governs the COOP program, and training visits to alternate work sites are one of its annual requirements. It states there are four pillars of continuity capabilities: leadership, staff, communication and facilities.

Employees of DLA Distribution Headquarters in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, paid respect to Holocaust Remembrance Day on Apr. 26, with a presentation featuring Dr. Edward S. Beck, a retired college professor and professional counselor. This year’s theme was “Learning from the Holocaust: the Strength of the Human Spirit.”
