More than a dozen "DSR University" training sessions in Battle Creek July 23-25 will help the agency's front-line disposal specialists provide world-class support to warfighters at sites around the world.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Disposal Services Representatives work directly with warfighters on property turn in. They have congregated in Michigan to help refine their role and plot their future.

Material Examiner and Identifier Joseph Davis Jr. uses a 10k extended boom forklift at the Overseas Contingency Operations Readiness Training exercise site in Fort Custer, Michigan, in June. The annual two-week training teams agency military and civilian expeditionary personnel to support real-world military units and government customers while building field skills to bring disposal support directly to the warfighter.

Train(ing) keeps a rollin'

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Another year, another summer exercise successfully in the books as agency civilians and military reserve personnel train together for the potential call to duty in faraway places.

New crop of Army food trucks to serve up healthy, fast meals for more soldiers

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support recently purchased six state-of-the-art food trucks for the Army’s Joint Culinary Center of Excellence. The first of these new vehicles rolled through the Troop Support headquarters in Philadelphia while on its way to Fort Drum, New York July 9, where it will be used for training before it goes into service.

Excess equipment helps deputies battle the elements

Duplin County, North Carolina — Not far from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune lies a county where the sheriff's deputies there also train to serve in "every clime" like their Marine neighbors with some help from the excess military vehicles and equipment they obtain with help from the Defense Logistics Agency.

Medical helps strengthen U.S. partnerships through readiness

PHILADELPHIA — Two Defense Logistics Agency employees attended a U.S. Army’s Office of the Program Manager - Saudi Arabian National Guard summit last month to inform the host nation’s military about Medical’s services, demonstrate products and evaluate protocols as a way to help strengthen the medical readiness on the battlefield.

Fueling Balikatan

Shoulder-to-shoulder, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military operated together in the 35th annual Balikatan exercise April 1-12. Throughout the exercise, DLA Energy provided six types of fuel and delivered 234,717 gallons to the U.S. military services at 18 different sites.
