Distribution Headquarters employees participate in OPSEC Jeopardy

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — The DLA Distribution Operations Security or OPSEC Program Manager and Coordinators conducted an Awareness Event on Feb 27 and March 1.

Exercise tests EOD and security forces

Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar — Defense Logistics Agency personnel in Qatar helped airmen from 379th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron and 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight collaborate on a training exercise recently.

TRANSCOM/DLA partnership results in transportation contract improvements

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — On February 12, DLA Distribution began utilizing one of the largest logistics contracts ever awarded by the U.S. government. The Defense Freight Transportation Services (DFTS) contract, a long-awaited collaboration between the United States Transportation Command and DLA Distribution, launched as an upgrade to the Defense Transportation Coordination Initiative (DTCI), which aimed to provide a single touch point for DoD shipments by allowing a commercial third party firm to manage and coordinate transportation.

Training helps warfighters deal with variety, bulk turn-ins

Gimcheon, South Korea — Team members at DLA Disposition Service sites are continuing to offer orientation and training whenever they can help make it easier for warfighters to dispose of excess items.

Sagami employees pitch in to protect environment

Sagami, Japan — Defense Logistics Agency employees in Japan had the chance to think “green” during a quarterly USFJ Environmental Subcommittee and Environmental Engagement Panel meeting sponsored by U.S. Forces Japan staff from March 7 to 8.

DLA Aviation awards U-2 support contract for Pacer Dragon Program

Richmond, Va — Preparing to pilot the Air Force’s U-2 Dragon Lady is much like suiting up to go into space.The Dragon Lady is a single-seat, single-engine, high-altitude aircraft that provides high-altitude/ near space reconnaissance and all-weather surveillance and reconnaissance, day or night, and delivers critical imagery and signals intelligence. International Leadership course conducts annual visit to DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Students enrolled in the Navy Supply Corps School’s International Leadership Executive Advanced Development course visited DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania on March 20 to discuss the organization’s mission capabilities and tour the Department of Defense’s largest distribution facility.
