Employees from across the McNamara Headquarters Complex celebrated the Air Force’s 69th birthday with stories and performances at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Sept. 22.

Distribution headquarters celebrates Air Force birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution headquarters employees gathered to celebrate the 69th birthday of the U.S. Air Force and to recognize two of DLA Distribution's Air Force Reserve employees Sept. 16.

Retired Vice Adm. Al Thompson led DLA Land and Maritime just after 9/11 and took the helm of DLA in 2008.

Director who led DLA support for Iraq surge to join Hall of Fame

Retired Navy Vice Adm. Al Thompson, who led DLA as director at a time when a surge in deployed personnel demanded a surge in critical equipment from DLA — and then led the agency through declining defense budgets — will join the Hall of Fame Sept. 20.

Krissie Davis, a civilian DLA employee, volunteered for service in Afghanistan and was killed at age 54 by an enemy rocket in June 2015.

Property disposal specialist killed in Bagram to be inducted into DLA Hall of Fame

Krissie Davis, a civilian DLA employee killed while on her second volunteer deployment in June 2015, will be inducted into the DLA Hall of Fame Sept. 20.

Army, DLA senior leaders discuss ways to improve readiness via close work on metrics, other areas

Students enjoy fresh produce provided through the Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. The program allows schools to order fresh produce from DLA Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain using U.S. Department of Agriculture entitlement funds.

As school year begins, Subsistence continues produce support for students
