Commentary: History comes full circle at Yokosuka

As Dec. 7 marks the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, in which nearly 2,500 U.S. military members and civilians were killed, DLA honors their memory with a commentary from a current Navy sailor serving with DLA in Japan.

Urgency drives DLA Puget Sound team in maintaining ballistic-missile submarines

The design of the Ohio-class submarine allows the vessel to operate 15 or more years between major overhauls. On average, the submarines spend 77 days at sea followed by only 35 days in-port for maintenance, creating urgency for on-shore personnel who must ensure the vessel is ready when called back to action.

DLA Distribution San Diego commences material processing center operations in support of Commander, Submarine Squadron 11 at Point Loma

For over ten years, Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet has relied upon the Naval Supply Systems Command Inter-service Supply Support Operations Program contract to provide material processing services at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, Ca., in support of home-ported submarines and a floating dry-dock.
