Commentary: History comes full circle at Yokosuka
As Dec. 7 marks the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, in which nearly 2,500 U.S. military members and civilians were killed, DLA honors their memory with a commentary from a current Navy sailor serving with DLA in Japan.

Urgency drives DLA Puget Sound team in maintaining ballistic-missile submarines
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The design of the Ohio-class submarine allows the vessel to operate 15 or more years between major overhauls. On average, the submarines spend 77 days at sea followed by only 35 days in-port for maintenance, creating urgency for on-shore personnel who must ensure the vessel is ready when called back to action.

SAN DIEGO, California — For over ten years, Submarine Force U.S. Pacific Fleet has relied upon the Naval Supply Systems Command Inter-service Supply Support Operations Program contract to provide material processing services at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, Ca., in support of home-ported submarines and a floating dry-dock.
