Hock promoted to assistant chief at DSCR

Firefighters and staff of Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond’s Fire and Emergency Services gathered to congratulate William Hock on his promotion to assistant chief of Training and Fire Prevention Oct. 11. Hock was joined at the fire station on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, by his wife Sara, father Robert, and children, Nathen, Nicholas, and Emilee who pinned his new rank during the ceremony.

DLA Distribution Commander celebrates 25th anniversary of the agency

This month marks the 25th Anniversary of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, a major subordinate command of DLA. Originally named Defense Distribution Center, DDC was officially stood up on October 1, 1997, in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania after a lengthy study of potential locations for the consolidated Defense Distribution Center headquarters.

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Leadership Working Group held its first in-person forum since 2020, during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sep. 20 in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The event was also available via web stream and dial in for supervisors whose offices are in regions outside of Virginia.
