DLA Distribution Norfolk team player with Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard in Pacer Goose 2015

In early July, the Ocean Giant set sail from Norfolk Naval Base with 2 million pounds of supplies on an 11-day voyage to the U.S. Armed Forces’ northernmost military installation in the world. Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Norfolk, Va., was part of the team tasked with the U.S. Space Command’s yearly surface resupply for 650 U.S. Air Force personnel at Thule Air Force Base, Greenland, in support of Operation Pacer Goose 2015.

Europe’s Bruner awarded Global Distribution Excellence: Vehicle and Material Handling Equipment Operator Civilian Supervisor/Leader of the Year

Lawrence Bruner, materials handler supervisor at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Europe, has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Vehicle and Material Handling Equipment Operator Supervisor/Leader of the Year award for his efforts in the distribution center’s Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point, or TCSP.

Foreign military officers enrolled in the Navy Supply Corps School’s International Leadership Executive Advanced Development course visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on Jul. 7 to learn about DLA’s global distribution network and tour the Department of Defense’s largest distribution facility.

Distribution’s airborne riggers: Support on the ground and in the air

Among the boxes, air pallets, and trucks at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., there is a unique team tucked in the midst: DLA’s only parachute rigger unit. The team’s set of responsibilities is unlike any other; not only do they provide mission receiving support like other distribution centers, they also provide parachute pack and maintenance activities for units across all military services.

Stoeger and Army Lt. Col. Milton G. Kelly June 11. The ceremony was hosted by the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.
