DLA Distribution leaders present forward-thinking Annual Operating Plan to DLA Director

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On Nov. 18, Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch met with DLA Distribution leadership at the newly constructed headquarters building in New Cumberland, Pa., for a report on the fiscal year 2016 annual operating plan and presentation of the fiscal year 2017 AOP.

San Joaquin graduates its leaders in High Performance Leadership

TRACY, California — DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., held a graduation ceremony for 106 graduates for the Foundations of High Performing Leadership training. All managers, supervisors and American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 1546 leaders attended the two-week session.

DLA Distribution employees were recognized for serving our nation in a uniformed service during a Veterans Recognition ceremony on Nov. 9.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution headquarters and Army Col. Brad J. Eungard, commander of DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., hosted a Veteran’s Day recognition program on Nov. 9, in the auditorium of the brand new Distribution headquarters building.

Distribution honors Native American Heritage Month

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — What started at the turn of the century as an effort to gain a day of recognition for the significant contributions the first Americans made to the establishment and growth of the U.S., has resulted in a whole month being designated for that purpose.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Logistics Agency, Distribution employees and leadership gathered to wish a collective “Happy Birthday” to the U.S. Marines Corps Nov. 10, in honor of the service’s 241st birthday. November 10, 1775 was the day that the Continental Marines, later renamed the United States Marine Corps, was established and each year on November 10, the United States celebrates United States Marine Corp Day.

Distribution partners with TRANSCOM to ship materials using the emerging Trans-Arabian Network routes

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution is partnering with the United States Transportation Command to schedule strategic sustainment material through the emerging Trans-Arabian Network routes.

DLA Distribution San Diego, Calif., at Port Hueneme, has partnered with the Navy Program Executive Office Littoral Combat Ships to support the battle spares program by storing main propulsion engines for the LCS program at a central location. Laskodi makes inaugural visit to Pacific Command Area of Responsibility

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — In October, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. John Laskodi made his inaugural visit to the Pacific Command Area of Responsibility to tour DLA facilities, discuss customer requirements, and meet employees. Laskodi made stops in Japan, Republic of Korea, and Guam.

Guam distribution center serves as logistics hub for Valiant Shield exercise

MARIANAS, Guam — In the sixth iteration of the biennial field training exercise Valiant Shield, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Guam, Marianas once again became the primary logistics hub for all cargo marked for activities participating in the event, which focused on integrated joint training among U.S. forces.

Profiles in Resiliency: Mason Chronister

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Mason Chronister, a management assistant in DLA Distribution’s department of Organizational Management and J9 was born deaf and at the age of 14 developed Usher Syndrome. Usher Syndrome results in a combination of hearing loss and visual impairment.

Chilean Navy visits DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Members of the Chilean Navy visited the largest distribution center in the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution network, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on Oct. 28 to discuss DLA’s global logistics processes and how DLA Distribution supports foreign military sales customers. The visit included Rear Adm. Guido Cabrera, supply director of the Chilean Navy.

Princesses, Pirates and Porcupines unite in the quest for candy at the annual CDC Halloween Parade

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Tenants of Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna lined the streets surrounding the Child Development Center and the installation fire station to hand out candy to approximately 120 ghouls, goblins, superheroes and princesses during the Halloween parade on Oct. 31.
