New Logistics Fuel Card offers flexibility, speed

A new Logistics Fuel Card will allow military and federal agencies to buy small quantities of specialty fuel this spring. To improve customer service and provide more flexibility, DLA added the card to its commercial fuel card solutions so customers can fill storage tanks from commercial sources worldwide when short-notice requirements arise.

DLA chemist leading efforts in alternative fuel, other DOD bulk fuel initiatives

Lindsey Hicks has served the Defense Logistics Agency as a pioneering chemist for over 30 years. He is currently the program manager leading DLA Research & Development’s Energy Readiness Program supporting the Defense Department’s bulk fuel and energy supply system. ERP’s strategic focus areas are fuel refining and distribution, fuel instability and contamination issues, and alternative fuel certification efforts.

Honoring African Americans both past and present, DLA Energy celebrated their accomplishments in a virtual Black History Celebration Feb. 15. Nearly 300 employees from across the entire agency participated in the discussion and listened to keynote speaker and honored guest, Army Maj. Gen. Charles Hamilton.

Operational fuel requirements and strategic planning were the priorities of the Joint Petroleum Seminar Feb. 7-8. DLA Energy hosted the seminar for members of the military petroleum community to collaborate and plan for current, future, and emerging energy needs in the joint petroleum arena.
