DLA delivers nearly 15,000 new uniforms to Papua New Guinea Defense Force

After 28 months of planning across multiple time zones, production by eight vendors and 4,000 manhours amongst 14 employees at Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Clothing and Textiles supply chain, approximately 15,000 U.S. made dress uniforms, valued at $4 million, were provided to the Papua New Guinea Defense Force last month.

Two DLA Energy Europe & Africa staffers become Green Belts

Recognizing the need for change, a dedicated team from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy Europe & Africa (E&A) partnered with continuous process improvement (CPI) experts from the DLA Energy headquarters. These mentors and coaches provided guidance to drive change. As a result, Courtney Butcher DLA Energy E&A customer account specialist (CAS) and Andreea Antonesei of DLA Energy E&A international agreements, achieved their Green Belt certifications. A Lean Six Sigma green belt certification is the first certification achievable in the CPI program where candidates learn how to use CPI tools and facilitate CPI projects in a methodical fashion to incite change.

DLA Energy Middle East conducted a personal protective equipment (PPE) fitting at Naval Support Activity Bahrain on April 24, bolstering force protection for its deployed workforce in response to rising regional threats. Proper PPE is essential for safeguarding DLA's personnel, its most valuable asset, and maintaining uninterrupted fuel support across the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
