Fueling Saber Strike

Acquisition Cross Service Agreements provided reciprocal fuel support between partner nations, contracts were issued for the direct delivery of bulk fuel to the region, and DLA Energy Europe and Africa personnel were forward-deployed to ensure the warfighters had the support needed throughout the multinational training exercise, Saber Strike 2018, held in the Baltic States and Poland, June 3-15.

Prepped, ready for 2018 Hurricane Season

DFSP Yorktown ceases fuel operations

YORKTOWN, Virginia — The final large barge lift of jet fuel marks the end of an era for the historic Defense Fuel Support Point Yorktown, Virginia, June 6. The transfer of 150,000 barrels of jet fuel to the Military Sealift Command fuel barge, Petrochem Producer, and the drawdown of fuel to tank bottom levels marks the start of the final accountability process for the 117 year-old, government-owned, contractor-operated fuel terminal.

Marines innovating expeditionary fuel additization

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Although there are more than 600 U.S. Defense Fuel Support Points located around the world, sourcing military specification fuel in an expeditionary environment on short notice or in small quantities sometimes proves challenging. To help find a solution, the U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Energy Office partnered with DLA Energy to test a commercial-off-the-shelf injection capability at DFSP Charleston.
