DLA Energy celebrates career of former commander

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Air Force Brig. Gen. Jimmy “Vegas” Canlas celebrated his 30-year military career during a retirement ceremony at the McNamara Headquarters Complex auditorium on Fort Belvoir, Virginia, June 30. In his final tour, Canlas served as the DLA Energy commander from June 2020 to June 2023.

It's never too early to start planning for retirement

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — More than 150 DLA Energy employees participated in a virtual Lunch and Learn on federal retirement planning Aug. 10. DLA Human Resources Benefits Specialist Aaron “Kav” Kavanagh provided an overview of the federal retirement system options adding helpful suggestions and insights on the steps needed to retire.
