DLA Energy brings first large-scale hybrid solar, wind renewable project to Fort Hood

FORT HOOD, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony with other senior officials for the first large-scale renewable energy solar and wind project at Fort Hood, Texas, June 2.

As part of the Defense Fuel Support Point San Pedro closing procedures, contractors remove the JP-5 cross connect that connects the north side of the terminal to the south side of the terminal. After 37 years, the DFSP San Pedro government owned, government operated fuel facility is closing tanks to achieve infrastructure savings and reduce costs for the Department of Defense.

DFSP San Pedro closes fuel tanks

SAN PEDRO, California — Defense Logistics Agency Energy is one-step closer to shutting down 27 World War II underground storage tanks at the U.S. Navy owned Defense Fuel Support Point in San Pedro, California.

The Acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations and Environment), the Honorable Steven Iselin, will be a keynote speaker at the 2017 Worldwide Energy Conference, sponsored by DLA Energy.

Pentagon endorses DLA Energy Worldwide Energy Conference

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — The eighth annual 2017 Worldwide Energy Conference, sponsored by Defense Logistics Agency Energy, has received the endorsement and support from the Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense, Logistics and Materiel Readiness.

DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin addresses attendees during the 2017 Joint Petroleum Seminar held at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Jan. 23-25. The annual DLA Energy seminar is held to strengthen relationships between Department of Defense petroleum leaders, exchange ideas and increase operational and organizational effectiveness.

DLA Energy Europe and Africa Petroleum laboratory featured in Facebook video

RHINE ORDNANCE BARRACKS, Germany — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Europe and Africa Petroleum laboratory in Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Germany, is featured in a 21st Theater Sustainment Command Facebook video.

Since the official kick-off for the Combined Federal Campaign on Oct. 3, the Defense Logistics Agency has reached more than 30 percent of its fundraising goal of $315,000.

CFC fundraising drive off to strong start for DLA Headquarters, DLA Energy

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — DLA organizations in the Washington, D.C., area are outpacing the rest of the Defense Department in the annual Combined Federal Campaign.

DLA Energy contracted 25 fuel trucks in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Incident Support Base at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, to support anticipated Hurricane Matthew relief operations.The trucks brought more than 123,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel to MCLB Albany Oct. 6.

Defense Logistics Agency Energy is providing essential fuel support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in response to ongoing Hurricane Matthew relief operations in the United States and Haiti.

Employees celebrate women’s right to vote

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency employees gathered to celebrate women’s right to vote and commemorate their struggles and triumphs to gain what today is a fundamental right for Americans during a Women’s Equality Day event held at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Aug. 24.
