3 Hurricanes, 30 Days: A look at DLA Energy Americas’ rapid response

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Americas and Task Force Americas rapidly responded to not one, but three major hurricanes that struck within a 30-day time span.

Houston — DLA Energy Americas employees frequently deal with hurricanes and tropical storms in their area of operation. With the Atlantic hurricane season beginning in June every year, it is their policy to fill DFSPs along the East Coast and Gulf Coast to the maximum extent possible.
