DLA Energy supports Northern Edge 21 exercise

DLA Energy Americas North provided fuel solutions for Air Force and Marine Corps units operating at remote Alaskan sites during exercise Northern Edge 21, May 3-17. NE21 is a U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercise designed to provide war fighter training, test joint interoperability, and enhance the combat readiness of participating forces while utilizing Alaska's strategic location.

Preparing to take command

Seven prospective DLA Energy commanding officers and two departing commanders participated in a pre-command orientation at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, May 6-7. With seven regional change of commands scheduled for June and July, the two-day course is designed to prepare commanders for their role and responsibilities as fuel providers to Combatant Commanders.

DLA Energy Commander visits Pacific regional commands

Fuel storage facility tours and a ribbon cutting ceremony highlighted DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Jimmy Canlas’ command familiarization tour to Alaska, Hawaii, and Guam, April 25-May 5. In his first official travel since taking command last June, Canlas hosted town halls at all three locations to meet and learn about his regional employees.
