SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii — Army Brig. Gen. Charles Hamilton, Troop Support commander from July 2015 to July 2017, took charge of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command June 7.

Troop Support NCO retires with 23 years of service

PHILADELPHIA — “Without retirement ceremonies, there can be no enlistment ceremonies,” said Army Sgt. 1st Class Troy Pringle. “Today, I have just made room for a newer, stronger, better version of me to take my place,” Pringle said, as he was honored for his 23-year Army career June 1.

Volunteers for the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event were recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation during a quarterly awards ceremony May 30. The ceremony recognized more than 100 individuals.

DLA team marks Memorial Day in visit to WWI commemoration in France

Over the Memorial Day weekend, a group from DLA Europe and Africa traveled to Château-Thierry, France, to participate in the World War I Centennial Commemoration at the Aisne-Marne Cemetery.

Randall “Adam” Bethke, a retired Army chief warrant officer, was the keynote speaker during the Philadelphia Compound Veterans annual Memorial Day observance, May 24. Bethke spoke about the importance that Memorial Day had for his father, a Vietnam veteran who lost friends during the war. The personal connection to Memorial Day deepened when Bethke joined the Army and lost friends of his own in the Global War on Terror.
