Defense Logistics Agency employees view their organization more favorably than employees of many other Defense Department or federal government agencies, according to the Office of Personnel Management’s 2015 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey results.

Customer support reps, liaison officers get renewed understanding of DLA mission, priorities

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency customer support representatives and liaison officers who work on-site with military customers throughout the United States and overseas gathered at the McNamara Headquarters Complex Sept. 1-2 for the annual CSR and LNO Summit.

DLA director visits personnel, tours Europe and Africa regional command

Kaiserslautern, Germany — Defense Logistics Agency Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch made a site visit to DLA Energy Europe & Africa headquarters in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Aug. 14 during a weeklong trip to the region.

Inside a massive 3D printer, a delicate head moves at lightning speed to precisely deposit heated plastic layer by layer to create a hardened part. DLA is researching whether 3D printing could help reduce costs and improve readiness.

3D printing could help DLA cut costs, improve parts support

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency is evaluating whether 3D printing, a process commercial manufacturers use to produce everything from prosthetics to airplane parts, could lower the cost and reduce lead times for hard-to-source, obsolete and back-ordered parts.

Army Reserve fuelers support DLA Energy during nationwide exercise

FORT BRAGG, North Carolina — Army Reserve Soldiers from 18 states participated in the Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise June 7-20 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. About 1,100 Soldiers came from as far away as Michigan and Puerto Rico and as near as North Carolina to haul fuel for the Defense Logistics Agency.

Muhammad retires, passes responsibility to Tobin

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — In a ceremony filled with laughter and memories, the Defense Logistics Agency’s senior enlisted leader marked the end of a 32-year U.S. Army career and passed responsibility to his replacement May 27 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.
