DLA Energy Commander visits Texas aerostat site
EL INDIO, Texas — Two miles east of the Rio Grande, high above the desolate South Texas chaparral land, tethered surveillance balloons, filled with helium from DLA Energy Aerospace keep watch. Observing the large, low-altitude aircraft, a DLA Energy team visited the Tethered Aerostat Radar System site at El Indio, Texas, Sept. 29.

Defense Department disability awards ceremony honors DLA, individual achievements
Arlington, Va. — During the Oct. 7 Secretary of Defense Disability Awards Ceremony, DLA earned best DOD mid-sized component for the fifth consecutive year. The agency was also recognized for ensuring accessible information and communication technology in the workplace, and DLA Aviation general supply specialist Aaron Wessman was honored as an outstanding DOD employee with a disability.

Coast Guard Training Center gets energy savings contract
PETALUMA, Calif. — A DLA Energy Savings Performance Contract will add energy resiliency and reduce reliance on the power grid for a northern California U.S. Coast Guard Training Center. TRACEN Petaluma will implement six energy conservation measures across the 837-acre campus to reduce its electric load and increase the on-base distribution system reliability.
