New policy prohibits DoD employees from using GPS services in operational areas

Employees are now barred from using geolocation features on personal and government-issued devices in operational areas including deployed locations and sensitive bases, according to a new Department of Defense policy.

New DLA award to recognize current, former trailblazers

The new Lt. Gen. Andrew T. McNamara Icon Award has been created to annually recognize one current or former Defense Logistics Agency employee, civilian or military, whose leadership or achievements had a measurable and enduring effect on the agency’s operations, customer support or culture.

Inaugural summit spurs transparency, targets readiness

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency leaders met with internal and external partners at the first Service Readiness Demand Planning Summit at the agency’s headquarters, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, July 12-13.

DLA's senior leaders--including the director of the agency--recently participated in live training outlining how supervisors should respond to a report of sexual assault or sexual harassment in the workplace.

Defense Logistics Agency senior leaders participated in the agency’s first combined sexual assault and sexual harassment training July 27. The in-person training was the first to combine these similar but distinct annual training requirements for supervisors.

New command chaplain to focus on spiritual resiliency, religious-supply support to DoD

Army Col. Bob Wichman has been a chaplain for 25 years, meeting the spiritual needs of soldiers in battalions, brigades, hospitals and even a military prison. His diverse background has prepared him for his new role overseeing religious-supply support to all Department of Defense chaplains.

Donna Davis, long regarded as a jack of all trades and tenacious leader, now joins the ranks as one of the Defense Logistics Agency’s 2018 Hall of Fame inductees.

On July 26, the DLA Hall of Fame will induct five new honorees. In the coming days, the DLA homepage will feature an article about each new member — beginning with the late Lillie Mae Brown, whose achievements fighting for civil rights led to greater opportunities for many others across the agency.
