DLA volunteer bakers help USO bring cheer to staff working holidays; drivers wanted

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — The Toys for Tots drop boxes are full and will make children happy this holiday season thanks to the generous donations of Defense Logistics Agency Energy employees and retired Marines.

Supplier Operations director assumes role of acting deputy commander

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Gabby Earhardt assumed the role of Defense Logistics Agency Energy acting deputy commander following the departure of former DLA Energy Deputy Commander George Atwood Nov. 28.

Commentary: History comes full circle at Yokosuka

As Dec. 7 marks the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, in which nearly 2,500 U.S. military members and civilians were killed, DLA honors their memory with a commentary from a current Navy sailor serving with DLA in Japan.

Saving life after terrorist bombing garners Army award

The last of the Army Hueys fly off to active retirement

Battle Creek, Michigan — After six decades of service, the Army is retiring what are thought to be the last of its flying UH-1 “Huey” Iroquois helicopters.

Distribution’s chief of staff receives Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Perry Knight, chief of staff at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service during DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch’s inaugural town hall at the new Distribution headquarters building on Nov. 18.

Small Tribes of Western Washington, based in Lakewood, is one of 125 Native American organizations with members whose fruits and vegetables are delivered by regional produce companies working on DLA Troop Support contracts as part of the USDA Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations.
