The DLA Energy Americas North regional office welcomed a new commander on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, June 7. Outgoing commander Air Force Lt. Col. Frederick Mueller handed over responsibility of the organization to Air Force Maj. Marcus McWilliams.

Dorothy Jean Lohr, a DLA Aviation procurement analyst who began her career as a GS-4 secretary, became known to colleagues as the "Wizard of Policy," due to her integral role and expertise in automated acquisition. She will be inducted into the DLA Hall of Fame June 26.

Fueling Balikatan

Shoulder-to-shoulder, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military operated together in the 35th annual Balikatan exercise April 1-12. Throughout the exercise, DLA Energy provided six types of fuel and delivered 234,717 gallons to the U.S. military services at 18 different sites.

Safety officials share tips to avoid work-related mishaps

DLA employees experienced 694 mishaps in 2018 resulting in employees being away from work 1,321 days and having 5,241 days of restricted duty. Injuries affected employees’ personal lives and their co-workers, and hindered DLA’s ability to accomplish its mission.
