Marine Corps celebrates 241st birthday in Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Military members from all services and civilians at DLA Land and Maritime recently gathered in the building 20 auditorium to celebrate the 241st birthday of the United States Marine Corps. The focal point in the Marine’s Birthday celebration is the cake cutting ceremony which symbolizes the connection between Marines past, present and future.

Veterans honored at annual DSCC program
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Associates honored fellow veterans during Defense Supply Center Columbus’ annual Veterans Day Program Nov. 9 inside the DLA Land and Maritime Operations Center auditorium. Mr. Alphonsa Green, the Recruiting Policy Branch Chief within the Army G-1 at the Pentagon, was the guest speaker. Green took those in attendance on a walk through the history of Veterans Day. He touched on the theme “How did we get here from there?”

Associate honored posthumously with signage
COLUMBUS, Ohio — On Oct. 8, the community, family and friends of Stephen Byus came together to remember him with a ceremony and unveiling of a new sign. Senate Bill 182, which was enacted earlier this year, named State Route 93 from the boundaries of the City of Wellston to the Village of Coalton as the “Lieutenant Stephen Byus Memorial Highway.”
