Embrace diversity with the 2016 DSCC Installation People and Culture

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) is celebrating the diversity of its 9,000-plus member workforce at the 2016 DSCC Installation People and Culture events Aug. 3. The theme is “E Pluribus Unum,” “Out of Many One,” a phrase that captures the symbolism of unity. The purpose of the event is to bring the virtual workforce together to embrace our diversity, enhance cultural understanding, and strengthen the unity of the DSCC workforce.

Million-tire milestone

COLUMBUS, Ohio — DLA Land and Maritime’s Tires Successor Initiative achieved a major milestone June 28 when a 16.00R20 radial tire sent to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, in support of the HEMTT retrofit program became the millionth tire shipped since contract performance began.

Brad Sparks, a pest controller at DLA checks a mosquito trap to see if any live specimens have been captured. Each week Sparks collects the samples and sends them to a laboratory to test for the presence of the Zika virus.

DLA joins fight against Zika

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime health officials are working with Army entomologists to collect mosquito samples on its installation in Columbus, Ohio, to test for the Zika virus.

Former Defense Logistics Agency Vice Director Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Loren Reno shares his experiences with a group of associates in the Level I Mentoring Program. The program instructs associates in areas such as emotional intelligence, behavior based interviewing, stress management and how to conduct meetings.
