Factory tour shows how an Abrams comes to life

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A lot has changed at the Lima Army Tank Plant since the first combat vehicles rolled off its assembly line nearly 75 years ago. During World War II, the Ohio installation had more than 5,000 employees and processed tens of thousands of vehicles for overseas shipment.

Land and Maritime honors its 2017 Hall of Fame class

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Seven associates representing 153 years of service to the nation’s warfighters were honored with Land and Maritime’s highest tribute with their induction into the Land and Maritime 2017 Hall of Fame Class.

School garden at the DSCC Child Development Center helps kids learn better and eat healthier.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — School is almost out for the summer, but the children in the Kindergarten Preparatory class at Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Child Development Center just dug into a summer project – a garden with vegetables and flowers.

EMS week is May 21 - 27. This year's theme: "EMS Strong: Always in Service," is a reminder of how committed EMTs and paramedics are to the tough work that requires passion, purpose and heart to carry out well every day, often in difficult circumstances.

EMS Week Salute at DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio — DSCC highlights a few of our EMTs and paramedics as a part of National EMS Week (May 21 - 27) as a way to thank the DSCC EMS team for answering the call and providing quality care to our associates in their time of need. Defense Supply Center Columbus was announced May 8 as a 2017 recipient of the Commander in Chief's Annual Award for Installation Excellence. Recipients of this highly competitive presidential award represent the highest standards of Department of Defense mission support in areas including quality of life, unit morale, energy conservation, environmental stewardship, safety and mission support.

Defense Supply Center Columbus recognized for installation excellence

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Secretary of Defense James Mattis announced Defense Supply Center Columbus as a 2017 recipient of the Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence on May 8.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.
