Defense Supply Center Columbus recognized for installation excellence

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Secretary of Defense James Mattis announced Defense Supply Center Columbus as a 2017 recipient of the Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence on May 8.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

Land and Maritime Commander visits detachments for operational assessment

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Admiral Michelle Skubic is engaged in a demanding travel schedule that recently included Army and Navy operations in Pennsylvania. COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Supply Center Columbus hosted more than 100 children of federal defense workers April 27 during its annual “Take our daughters and sons to work day” event.

Land and Maritime engineer honored for fiber optics work

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Department of Defense is engaged in a continual effort to improve operational efficiencies of the weapons systems used by the nation’s military services. Many of the systems have incorporated fiber optics in place of older cable wiring technology to improve performance and reduce overall weight.

Local high school students learn about the types of military equipment DLA purchases to support warfighters around the world during a visit to Defense Supply Center Columbus for "A day in the life of a mentor" event on Apr. 20.

Local high school students visit DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Students from Whitehall-Yearling High School visited Defense Supply Center Columbus on Apr. 20 to learn about the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime during “A day in the life of a mentor” event.

Acquisition executive temporarily joins Land and Maritime team

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime has expanded its leadership team with the addition of Roxanne Banks, deputy director of Acquisition (J7) for DLA at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

DLA Land and Maritime’s Small Business Office received the Verdure Award during the DoD's annual Vanguard Awards ceremony April 6 in Atlanta, GA for significant contributions to buying method efficiency and innovation. Land and Maritime Small Business Office wins Vanguard Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded the Verdure Award to the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Office of Small Business Programs for their contributions to buying method efficiency and innovation.
