DLA Information Operations team supports Talisman Sabre 2019

FORT BELVOIR, VA — Two members of the Defense Logistics Agency Contingency Information Technology team are in Australia supporting the agency’s participation in the Talisman Sabre 2019 exercise.

Faith services offered at DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Chaplain Liaisons provide encouragement to employees in support of the spiritual pillar of the DLA Land and Maritime Resiliency Program under the People and Culture Directorate. Bible Class and Prayer Warriors groups formed at DSCC in the late 1990’s by a small group of employees and a volunteer Chaplain Liaison of the Christian faith.

Exercise planner honored for support to Pacific Sentry

Army Capt. Ryan Campbell, a joint logistics plans officer for Defense Logistics Agency Indo-Pacific, was recognized for his support during Pacific Sentry in a July ceremony at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.

PaCER Proteges save the government time and money

COLUMBUS, Ohio — In the midst of the current DLA cash crunch, two DLA Land and Maritime associates have indirectly developed a few ways to save the agency some money. DLA Demand Supply Chain Analyst Christopher Rodriguez and DLA Maritime Customer Relations Customer Account Specialist Jeffrey Day have collaborated on quite a few projects in their two-year tenure in the Pathways to Career Excellence Program (PACE) at DLA Land and Maritime Columbus, Ohio.

Troop Support contracting officer makes impact through process improvement

PHILADELPHIA — An unexpected opportunity to take a Lean Six Sigma training class jumpstarted a Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support contracting officer’s process improvement acumen and organizational impact. Robert Fagan, a contracting officer with Clothing and Textiles’ heraldic team, led a continuous process improvement project with the potential to be replicated throughout the entire enterprise.

Expeditionary contracting officers wanted

The Defense Logistics Agency relies heavily on those in the contracting series to provide acquisition services and contract support to assist the agency’s military and civilian partners around the world. To meet its goal of 40 qualified contracting officers, the Joint Contingency Acquisition Support Office is recruiting members for its Expeditionary Contracting Cadre.

More than a dozen "DSR University" training sessions in Battle Creek July 23-25 will help the agency's front-line disposal specialists provide world-class support to warfighters at sites around the world.

DLA sweeps DoD Workforce Recruitment Program Awards

The Defense Logistics Agency proved its commitment to employing people with disabilities by dominating the Defense Department’s 2019 Workforce Recruitment Program Awards in a July 18 ceremony in Alexandria, Virginia. The agency placed in all four categories for the first time and was named WRP Component of the Year for the second year.
