Guest speaker says American Indian tribes focused on developing leaders

PHILADELPHIA — The guest speaker at the annual American Indian Alaskan Native Month observance Dec. 1 talked about the importance of developing future Native American leaders.

Suzan Cohen, a supervisory customer relationship specialist in Construction and Equipment, was one of nearly 20 DLA Troop Support supervisors in attendance at the annual Federal Executive Board Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity training event Nov. 23 in Philadelphia. Cohen also earned the 2015 DLA Award for Achievement in EEO by a supervisor or manager for her initiative and leadership in EEO practices within DLA Troop Support.

DLA Troop Support leaders recognized for work in diversity

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support executive director of acquisition and a supervisor in the Construction and Equipment supply chain were recognized during an annual diversity training event in Philadelphia Nov. 23.

Employees surprise Troop Support leaders with award

PHILADELPHIA — Two leaders at DLA Troop Support were pleasantly caught off guard by the actions of their employees Nov. 19.

DLA Troop Support Pacific personnel oversee the delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables to the USS Theodore Roosevelt Nov. 15 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. It was the first delivery through Troop Support Pacific’s new long-term FF&V contract.

Troop Support Pacific bolsters fresh fruits, vegetables support to Navy

PHILADELPHIA — The USS Theodore Roosevelt received a special delivery Nov. 15 when it stopped at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The aircraft carrier was resupplied with fresh fruits and vegetables through Troop Support Pacific, the first delivery through a new, long-term contract that enables better support to Navy ships.

Troop Support serves taste of home to military overseas for Thanksgiving

PHILADELPHIA — Service members around the world will have a taste of home this Thanksgiving, thanks to DLA Troop Support. More than 15,000 pounds of turkey and 1,854 pies have been provided in time for troops in Afghanistan to enjoy their holiday meals.

Subsistence field rep’s passion for produce drives customer support

PHILADELPHIA — Ken Wilmoth has worked with produce since he was a kid helping pull his parents’ produce cart. Now as a Subsistence field representative, he works directly with customers at military bases and schools to ensure they receive quality fresh fruit and vegetables.

Disabled employees' contributions recognized at DLA Troop Support annual expo

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support held their annual Expo and AbilityOne Day event Oct. 28. This event was observed in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey — Warfighters can’t get the food they need to accomplish their mission without the support of the food industry, DLA Troop Support’s commander said during a meeting Oct. 20 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

CFC kickoff focuses on givers, not dollars

PHILADELPHIA — Every little bit counts. That was the theme during DLA Troop Support's annual Combined Federal Campaign kickoff. Employees donated more than $141,000 last year to CFC charities.

Troop Support honors 240 years of America’s Navy

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support celebrated 240 years of the Navy Oct. 13. The Navy was established by the Continental Congress in 1775.

DLA senior leaders impressed with Troop Support's confidence, efficiency

PHILADELPHIA — DLA's senior enlisted leader and foreign policy advisor learned about Troop Support's mission and capabilities during a visit to Philadelphia Oct. 8.

Subsistence provides food, water to Fort Jackson after historic South Carolina flooding

PHILADELPHIA — Following historic floods there during the last week, meals and water have arrived at Fort Jackson, South Carolina thanks in part to DLA Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain.

PHILADELPHIA — Subsistence employees toured a field kitchen that Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers set up while staged at the NSA Philadelphia compound in support of the Papal visit.

IH employees get the bigger picture during DLA Distribution visit

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Seeing the process of how repair parts go from contract award to the hands of the warfighter was the goal of a visit Sept. 15 to a DLA Distribution warehouse.
