DOD leader visits Troop Support, learns about capabilities, warfighter support

PHILADELPHIA — Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics Leigh Method visited Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support on August 14 to learn more about the organization’ s capabilities and warfighter support.

Troop Support celebrates two retirees during ceremony

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support celebrated the careers of two civilian employees during a retirement ceremony July 27.

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Commander Army Col. Landis Maddox held his first workforce town hall on July 27, 2023, in Philadelphia posing with a mock DLA "secret sauce," and Philadelphia Eagles hat and jersey.

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Commander Army Col. Landis Maddox held his first workforce town hall on July 27, 2023, in Philadelphia.

Troop Support’s Medical, Subsistence supply chains take it to the softball field

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Medical and Subsistence supply chains hit the softball field for some friendly competition July 26 in Philadelphia. Through seven innings, and a final score of eight to seven, the Subsistence supply chain secured their spot as the 2023 DLA Troop Support Softball Champions.

How does the Department of Defense employ a salad robot?

PHILADELPHIA — Back in December of 2021, the Monarch dining facility at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, California, was the first in the Department of Defense to acquire “Alfred, the salad robot.”

Clothing and Textiles Value Management Office updates canceled National Stock Numbers

PHILADELPHIA — Ensuring delivery of warfighter readiness in subsistence, clothing and textiles, construction and equipment, and medical items is the main mission of the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support but inaccurate National Stock Numbers can cause warfighters to struggle with requesting necessary items to meet readiness requirements.

Commander reflects fondly on time at DLA, wishes Troop Support continued success

PHILADELPHIA — Army Brig. Gen. Eric P. Shirley completed his tenure as the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support commander during a change of command ceremony on June 15 in Philadelphia.

Locals tour mobile field clinics donated to aid in hurricane recovery in Honduras through the US Southern Command's humanitarian aide program. DLA Troop Support procured six mobile field clinics that were delivered in April.

PHILADELPHIA — To help restore medical infrastructure damaged by hurricanes, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Medical supply chain provided six mobile field clinics to Honduras through a US Southern Command humanitarian donation in April.

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Shirley hosts his last town hall event for Troop Support employees in Philadelphia on May 6. Army BG Eric P. Shirley assumed command of the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support on June 17, 2021. Under his leadership, DLA Troop Support annually provides more than $19 billion worth of food, clothing and textiles, construction and equipment, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment, as well as industrial repair parts for America’s warfighters and other valued customers worldwide.

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain hosted a town hall on 30 May in Philadelphia. The Subsistence supply chain provides food support for the military all over the world. From individually packaged meals in a soldier's ruck sack, to a ship's galley and to full-service dining facilities on military installations, Subsistence gets that food there. Subsistence also supports other non-Department of Defense activities, such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the State Department, Veterans’ Homes and more.
