DLA delivers produce to Egyptian port, expands support in Red Sea

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — “The delivery is more than a truck of fresh fruit and vegetables,” said Army Lt. Col. Sherdrick Rankin, DLA Troop Support Europe & Africa commander. “This effort brings a new capability to the Navy in the (U.S. Central Command) area of operations and expands support in the strategic waters of the Red Sea.”

Troop Support staff office ‘steps into the breach,’ thanked by commander

PHILADELPHIA — Four acquisition professionals from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support were recognized for their teamwork and accomplishments Feb. 6 in Philadelphia. Joan Estelly, Raeshon Falkowski, Eileen Friel and Nate Prattico, all from DLA Troop Support’s Procurement Directorate, received certificates of appreciation and a command coin from DLA Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Mark Simerly as thanks for their contributions to the Construction and Equipment supply chain during a period of high demand and employee turn-over.

Medical helps prevent the flu amongst service members through ‘teamwork’

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Medical supply chain procured 3.4 million influenza vaccine doses for service members around the world during the 2018-2019 Influenza Season.

DLA Troop Support seeks mentors and mentees to kick start leader development pilot

PHILADELPHIA — A new opportunity for mid-career civilian employees to gain one-on-one mentorship from senior-level employees across Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support is now available.

Five students from the University of Virginia’s Hacking for Defense course presented their recommendations from their final research project to Pentagon staff at the end of last year. The Hacking for Defense course provides university students an opportunity to work with DOD and the intelligence community to address the nation’s cybersecurity threats and security challenges.
