March Activities

DLMS Activity Report March 2025
Volume 2 Issue 3

The Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) Summit will be held virtually this year.  We are developing a schedule that makes sense and doesn’t have you hanging on Teams for 2 days straight.  More to come as we work through the details.

DLMS XML SCHEMA WARNING: More and more of you are implementing the DLMS and that is great!  We want to remind all of you that while the DLMS XML schema is based off the DLMS X12 implementation conventions (both found on our website) there is a known disconnect that impacts the DLMS XML.  The DLMS XML schemas are limited in capability--they cannot and do not include conditional syntax logic--the if/when/then of a transaction.  Programmers must review the DLMS X12 implementation conventions to determine if additional program logic is needed on top of the DLMS XML schema.  Failure to do so will result in errors and delays in processing.  We are working to provide more clarity for DLMS XML and DLMS X12 implementation convention use going forward, but for those using DLMS XML today, there may be impacts.  If you have additional questions let us know!
