DLMS Activity Report April 2025
Volume 2 Issue 4
The Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) Summit will be held virtually this year. We are developing a schedule that makes sense and doesn’t have you hanging on Teams for 2 days straight. More to come as we work through the details.
MANDATORY DLMS TRANSACTIONS: The transmission of both a pre-positioned materiel receipt (DLMS 527D) and a shipment return status (DLMS 856R) transaction is mandatory when shipping materiel to a storage activity. These transactions allow storage activities to plan and allocate resources plus they help account for materiel received but not yet recorded as inventory on-hand. Materiel without the corresponding data provided by these transactions slows the receipt process and affects the ability for materiel owners to maintain accurate accountability and financial records.
