Indo-Pacific leaders manage largest geographical fuel region

Regional fuel deputy directors converged at DLA to participate in the Commander’s Strategic Offsite, meet with the DLA Director, and attend the annual Joint Petroleum Seminar at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. During their two-week visit, Indo-Pacific leaders shared personal experiences about supporting DLA Energy’s largest geographical fuel region.

DLA Energy leadership briefed the DLA director on its fiscal year 2020 Dynamic Operating Plan at the McNamara Headquarters Complex at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Jan. 28. The Fiscal Year 2020 DLA Strategy Map for Energy emphasizes key items of service readiness, fueling the fight and posturing capabilities for a rapid response.

In his first command outreach visit to the Texas triangle region, DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Albert Miller recognized Houston and San Antonio employees, Jan. 14-17. During the visit, Miller reinforced supplier relations meeting with local suppliers to strengthen partnerships and strategic relationships in the region.

These heroes have four legs

They come in all breeds, shapes and sizes, padding quietly at their handler’s side. Indispensable working partners and companions, these four-legged heroes help the disabled lead a more independent life. More than 28 service dog charities are part of the 2019 Combined Federal Campaign. Seven are affiliated with military and veterans support group organizations.

Under the lights of a massive video wall, all eyes focus on the monitors as the battle captain’s voice echoes through the microphone in the DLA Synchronization Operations Center, Dec. 20. It’s standing room only in the 24/7 center as uniformed and civilian logisticians from across the DLA enterprise are briefed on defense missions around the world.

A tribute to the Warfighters who are “fueling the line” over the holidays

A tribute poem to Warfighters who "fuel the line” was written by Air Force Col. Loren M. Reno on Nov. 26, 1997 when he was assigned to Split, Croatia, as part of Operation Joint Endeavor. He returned to DLA as a major general and served as the Vice Director from Oct. 2005 to May 2007. Reno was inducted into the DLA Hall of Fame in August 2014 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex on Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
