DAMES is a PC based software package that provides the user with the capability to communicate with DLA Transaction Services. It provides capability to send/receive logistics transactions and narrative text through a modem using standard telephone lines or the Internet.
Logistics Data Gateway is a DoD level utility that provides for easy web access to the current and historical data that flows through DLA Transaction Services and provide these data in an integrated fashion.
LMARS/CWT Reporting System is a capability to nodally track material as it flows through the logistics pipeline and report the associated response times. The office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Logistics, has identified twelve nodes for measuring the logistics pipeline.
MILSBILLS Inquiry System is a query system providing both local and remote users the capability to query and display Interfund Bills (MILSBILLS) and Materiel Obligation Validation (MOV) files and generate retransmit requests on-line. The MOV System contains all inquiry batches and AE status documents submitted during the recent quarter, retaining the data for 90 days.are the various services available. Web Requisitioning (WEBREQ) is a DLA Transaction Services Web product that provides customers a means to input materiel requisitions, cancellations, follow-ups, modifications, and Materiel Obligation Validation (MOV) documents. WEBREQ can also provide status documents back to the user.
Web Supply Discrepancy Reporting (WEBSDR) system will provide a web-based entry method for SDRs, routing for web submissions and logistics transactions according to business rules, any-to-any translation to support unique and standard transaction formats, information exchange between the action office and the shipper, SDR resolution responses, capture of SDR and response management statistics and assimilation of SDR metrics along with Customer Wait Time/Logistics Response Time in support of perfect order fulfillment. This process reduces manual SDR form creation and provides an automated process for tracking SDR response information.
WEB Visual Logistics Information and Processing System (WEB VLIPS) is a web based, access controlled query system that is useable from any Internet attached PC. It accesses the Logistics On-line Tracking System (LOTS), a DLA Transaction Services relational database system, which portrays the life cycle of a logistics action.

Federal and International Cataloging
Cataloging applications enable authorized submitters to input cataloging requests for new National Stock Number (NSN) assignment, maintenance and collaboration. Also enables users to perform inquiries on cataloging requests to obtain status.
Catalog Tools Tables contain data required to maintain the characteristics portion of the Federal Catalog System (FCS). Tables are categorized as primarily oriented to Item Names, Federal Supply Class (FSC), Federal Supply Group (FSG), Edit Guides, Master Requirements Directory (MRD), MRD Traditional Version, Drawing Cross Reference files, Reference Drawing Group (RDG) files, Federal Item Identification Guides (FFIG), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) H6 file, Taxonomy Tables, or the Item Identification Guides (IIG). Tables are updated monthly.
DD1685 is an electronic form for data exchange and/or proposed revision of cataloging data.
DD180 is a request for approved item name creation or change.
Demilitarization (DEMIL) Coding allows users to research DEMIL codes, request a review and verification of Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) DEMIL codes or find a Department of Defense Demilitarization Management Coding Office (DDCMO) point of contact.
Department of Defense (DOD) Defense Standardization Program promotes standardization of materiel, facilities, and engineering practices to improve military operational readiness, and reduce total ownership costs and acquisition cycle time. It is also DOD policy to state requirements in performance terms, wherever practical, and to make maximum use of non-Government standards and commercial technologies, products, and practices.
Electronic Cataloging (E-Cat) is a Logistic Information Services Web based application designed to allow registered users the ability to get information onto a cataloger’s workbench, query their past transactions, and initiate collaboration with the services.
Foreign Military Sales (FMS) provides information on establishing FMS cases for cataloging services and logistics data products that are produced by Logistics Information Services.
H2 Federal Supply Classification (FSC) is a Cross reference of Federal Supply groups and Classes with definitions.
H6 Item Name Directory defines Item Names and cross references them to Item Name codes and Federal Supply Classes (FSC).
International Cataloging/Codification applications enable authorized submitters to input cataloging requests for new National Stock Number (NSN) assignment, maintenance and collaboration on items of supply where the design control is held by the United States (U.S.) or where the design control is held by Partner Nations.
Item Identification Guides (IIG) outline the characteristics data requirements and associated replies to accurately describe Items of Supply.
National Stock Number (NSN) Assignment Flow chart gives a high level overview for the process of assigning an NSN to an item supplied by civilian vendors to the military services.

Logistics Information Services Training offers training on all of our products and services. Many of our courses offer classroom instruction as well as Distributed Learning delivery such as Computer Based Training (CBT) on CD ROM/DVD, Web Based Training (WBT), Satellite/VTC Training, and Webinar. Web based training is accessible from this web site to your personal computer. Tailored courses can be developed to meet individual service or agency needs.
Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) Technical Procedures This site provides the official publication of the FLIS Technical Procedures, formerly published under the authority of the Department of Defense (DOD) Directive 4100.39M. These procedures contain information on system concepts, maintenance, and system content. They are used DOD wide to promote a uniform system of item identification and operational effectiveness within DOD components and to establish and maintain a National Stock Number (NSN).
