Terminating Allowances
To terminate Living Quarters Allowance, Post Allowance, Post Differential, Separate Maintenance Allowance and Home Leave, you must submit a completed SF-1190. Provide completed documents to the Overseas Entitlements Team, hrsv-n.overseas.ent@dla.mil
When to Terminate:
Submit your documentation to terminate LQA and Post Allowance as soon as you have definite dates for entry into temporary quarters. The effective date of termination for LQA and Post Allowance will be the day before you enter temporary quarters or if TQSA is not utilized, upon departure from the overseas area.
Submit your documentation to terminate Post Differential, Separate Maintenance Allowance and Home Leave as soon as possible, prior to your departure. These allowances will terminate upon your departure from the overseas area or the last day assigned to the overseas duty station, whichever is sooner.
TQSA and LQA are not payable simultaneously, except under special circumstances. When it is necessary to vacate your permanent residence quarters in order to comply with stringent lease requirements for cleaning and repair, or while movers are there preparing the employee's household effects for shipment, overlap of TQSA and LQA for no more than 5 days may be approved by the head of your agency or designee. Overlap of TQSA and LQA is not an entitlement. You must request approval from your agency Headquarters through your chain of command. Your request should include documentation of a stringent lease requirement for cleaning and repair; in other words, the requirement must be stricter than is usual and must be contained in your lease. Your request should include documentation from the Transportation Management Office/Moving Company with the dates they were be at your residence packing out. Provide completed documents to the Overseas Entitlements Team, hrsv-n.overseas.ent@dla.mil, for final review and approval.
