DLA Aviation helps wounded warriors prepare resumes, navigate USA jobs website

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Equal Employment Office, along with DLA Human Resources hosted a workshop May 23 for wounded warriors.

DLA Aviation at Jacksonville welcomes new commander, retires another

In a ceremony rich with Navy traditions, Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation commander, hosted a change of command and retirement ceremony for outgoing DLA Aviation at Jacksonville Site Commander Navy Cmdr. Maurice Meagher, III and incoming Navy Cmdr. Daniel Bessman at Hangar 117 on Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, May 25.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation will soon begin using a new DLA Aviation Process Excellence methodology known as APEx. APEx tools, like the Leadership Model tool, enhance the way we manage, evaluate, refine, and communicate process design.

RICHMOND, VA — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is continuing its journey building a process excellence culture using a new DLA Aviation Process Excellence methodology known as APEx. APEx strengthens our ties to the DLA director’s process excellence vision by implementing process management methodologies that enhance the way we manage, evaluate, refine, and communicate process design.

Small named DLA Aviation Employee of the Month

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Ogden employee Melissa Small was honored as the March 2016 Employee of the Month in a ceremony May 19. Small works remotely from Huntsville, Alabama, as a contracting officer aligned with DLA Aviation’s Strategic Acquisition Programs Directorate in Ogden, Utah.

Washington National Guard learns language of DLA food support

PHILADELPHIA — When the Washington Army National Guard decided it needed a better way to provide food to guardsmen, it reached out to the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence team.

DLA Aviation helps keep the Thunderbolt II mission ready

RICHMOND, Va. — Trying to maintain an antique machine is a challenge for any collector or parts provider whether it’s a bicycle, a car, or a multiple-million-dollar weapon system flying critical missions keeping Americans safe at home and abroad. The A-10 is one such system whose length of service has recently been extended until 2022.

Elias and Bec Dungca and their two sons, Elijah and Isaiah, lost most of their belongings in a fire Oct. 24, 2014. Through faith, family and friends, they were able to recover and return to their normal lives.

Division chief overcomes fire with faith, support from co-workers

PHILADELPHIA — Elias Dungca looked at his apartment on fire and knew that he was going to lose everything in it. His faith, family and friends helped Dungca’s family resiliently overcome the fire that destroyed their home in October 2014.

Memorial Day weekend, with its cookouts, ball games and summer sales, is almost upon us. While there is nothing wrong with these things, Memorial Day calls for a deeper reflection on the sacrifices many Americans have made to preserve our freedom.
