August is Antiterrorism Awareness Month. Associates receive annual training through the Defense Logistics Agency Learning Management System, encouraged to remain vigilant and are reminded to notify DLA Columbus Information Security, the Antiterrorism Officer as well as check with their chain of command to ensure compliance with the requirements set forth in the DoD Foreign Clearance Guide when traveling abroad.
Additionally, the Defense Supply Center Columbus welcomed the new antiterrorism officer August 4.
Getting to Know the ATO
Describe your job in a sentence or two: My job is to provide unrivaled antiterrorism advice and service to DSCC personnel and visitors while evaluating and remedying emerging threats that can affect the mission and ultimately the warfighter.
What is your favorite thing about your line of work? My favorite thing is knowing that even if people don’t know my name or know what I do, my work helps keep them safe every day.
What are you looking forward to now that you are part of the DLA team? I’m looking forward to being back in Ohio! It has been a long time since I lived here and it is great being back.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you? Perception is everything.
What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was in the third grade I wanted to be a paleontologist. I loved dinosaurs but not everything else that went with that.
What are your hobbies? My hobbies include watching movies, fishing, and spending time with my family.
