DLA Troop Support Construction and Equipment supply chain employees conduct spring clean-up event in Building 3 March 20, 2019 in Philadelphia. The leaders implemented a supply chain wide housekeeping event to demonstrate the directorate’s commitment to the VPP program, an OSHA led initiative that promotes good housekeeping in the office environment as a major part of its mishap, pest management and fire prevention efforts.

DLA Distribution San Joaquin receives the prestigious Department of Defense Voluntary Protection Programs Site Award

A culture of safety at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California is evident with their selection as the 2018 Department of Defense Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Achievement Award winner. Marine Col. Andre Harrell, installation commander, accepted the award on behalf of Team San Joaquin at the Voluntary Protection Program Participant’s Association National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on August 28, 2018. The installation is one of only 57 certified Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Programs Star sites in the Department of Defense.

On May 30, 2018, DLA entities at Ogden, Utah held their first annual Voluntary Protection Program Safety Expo. The participants consisted of groups from Distribution, Aviation, Information Operations, Disposition Services, and Document Services to show many elements of safety affecting all aspects of employee lives, both personally and professionally.
