Centenarian Receives Gold Star Recognition at Defense Supply Center Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. — In a moving ceremony held at Defense Supply Center Richmond, 101-year-old Alfred Hunter was recognized as a Gold Star family member by U.S. Rep. Robb Wittman (VA-01). The event honored the memory of Alfred’s brother, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Robert H. Hunter, who was killed in action during World War II.

Protecting the mission: John O’Kleasky takes top prize
RICHMOND, Va., — John O'Kleasky, anti-terrorism officer within the Security Operations branch of the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond Security and Emergency Services Office, earned top honors when he was named DLA Senior Security Professional of the Year for 2024 during the agency’s annual awards ceremony held Jan. 23, at DLA headquarters on Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

DLA’s Automated One Time Buy Team earns agencywide accolades
RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency’s Enterprise Automated One Time Buy Procurement Team made significant strides in supporting the defense industrial base and meeting warfighter requirements, issuing over 400,000 solicitations and resulting in approximately 151,311 awards valued at $1.086 billion from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024. The team – comprised of 30 personnel from DLA Aviation, Land and Maritime and Troop Support – was recently recognized with the Acquisition Workforce Team Achievement during the 57th Annual Employee Recognition Program held Jan. 23 at DLA headquarters on Fort Belvoir.
