DSCC activities support Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October has been National Domestic Violence Awareness Month since 1981. The observance serves to educate communities, individuals, couples and families about the Family Advocacy Program services and other community resources that can help prevent domestic violence, raise awareness of community responsibility, and inform the community of the many ways to report domestic abuse.

Land and Maritime senior leader promotes workforce disability awareness

As Champion for the Persons with Disabilities Program, I thought I’d begin by telling my story. Several years ago, I went to a Lasik center to explore having surgery to correct my eyesight. Unfortunately, I was given bad news. I was diagnosed with a congenital disorder called Keratoconus where my corneas were more conically shaped instead of curved. Not only could I not have the Lasik surgery, but I learned that unless I had treatment, I’d lose my sight.

The Defense Federal Community and the Equal Employment Opportunity Hispanic Employment Program join in the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15, 2020. This month was designated by Congress to celebrate the contributions of Hispanic Americans, whom have influenced this country for more than 240 years, and worked hard in building this great nation.

OPSEC: Your focused, compliant practice helps keep our service members safe

Operations Security is a process that safeguards sensitive information. It enables Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime and other Department of Defense organizations to identify and protect classified and unclassified critical information and execute measures to eliminate or reduce our adversaries' ability to use the information obtained. OPSEC challenges us to look at ourselves through the eyes of an adversary and deny the adversary the ability to act.
