Troop Support Medical Small Business
DLA Troop Support’s (TS) Medical supply chain supports the Nation’s military every day and in every crisis. DLA TS Medical support warfighters and their dependents around the world, from well babies to wounded warriors. To ensure their basic and critical medical and pharmaceutical needs are met, the support includes surgical items, preventive vaccines, field hospital equipment and even medical supplies for animals.

Troop Support Construction and Equipment Small Business
DLA Troop Support’s Construction & Equipment (C&E) supply chain provides a diverse set of solutions for our military and other federal customers. C&E’s support programs include equipment to support fire emergencies and force protection, communication and tactical equipment, and metal to keep critical weapon systems operational.

8(a) Business Development Program
Sections 7(j)(10) and 8(a) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 636(j)(10) and 637(a)) authorizes the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish a business development program, which is known as the 8(a) Business Development program. The 8(a) program is a robust nine-year program created to help firms owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

The WOSB Program was created to help level the playing field for women small business owners.

HUBZone Program
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) designates Historically Underutilized Business Zones, or HUBZones, based on a combination of unemployment and income, among other things.
Small Disadvantaged Business
Each year, the Federal Government awards about 10% of all federal contract dollars, or roughly $50 billion in contracts, to Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB). The Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Government Contracting and Business Development monitors the progress of 24 Executive Branch agencies in contracting with Small Disadvantaged Businesses.
Small Business Training Opportunities
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) provides free training opportunities to small businesses through Training, Knowledge, and Opportunities (TKO) Seminars and Webinars.
Value Engineering
The DLA Aviation and DLA Land & Maritime (L&M) Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) purchase replenishment part items of supply for their respective supply chains through either a competitive nature, approved manufactured part number, or a qualified products list (QPL).
