First RAB meeting of 2016 held

RICHMOND, Virginia — Community members attended the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond’s environmental cleanup program quarterly Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) meeting January 11 at the Bensley Community Center in Chesterfield County.DLA Installation Support at Richmond's environmental office conducted the quarterly RAB meeting and provided program updates on groundwater testing results and remediation activities for operable units on center.

Construction is underway on the new Defense Logistics Agency Aviation operations center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Phase I of the project is scheduled to be complete by late summer 2018. When completed, the five-story building will house roughly 875 employees.

DLA Aviation Operations Center Phase I construction in full swing

RICHMOND, Virginia — Construction on the new five-story Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Operations Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia is in full swing and a great deal of progress has been made since the groundbreaking ceremony back on Oct. 15, 2015.

New Army recruits receive updated operational camouflage pattern Army combat uniforms and accessories at Fort Benning, Georgia, Dec. 20. Approximately 1,300 recruits at Fort Benning have already been issued the fiscal year 2016 clothing bag, which includes OCP ACUs and accessories.

Recruits receive new Army uniforms as rollout continues

PHILADELPHIA — Army recruits will now join soldiers already wearing the Operational Camouflage Pattern as the rollout of the new Army Combat Uniform continues.

Employees can check for changes in the local operating status at www.dla.mil/distribution or by signing up for email alerts and/or text messages from AtHoc, DLA’s Emergency Mass Notification System.

Employees encouraged to plan ahead for potential winter storm

Defense Logistics Agency employees are encouraged to start preparing now for what forecasters believe could be a severe, potentially historic snowstorm in the region Friday through Saturday.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army Sgt. 1st Class Bradrick Davis, transportation non-commissioned officer in charge at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been awarded the Distribution Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter for fourth quarter, fiscal year 2015 for his performance, outstanding professional skill, knowledge and leadership.

DLA Energy awards Army’s first hybrid renewable energy contract

FORT HOOD, Texas — The Army’s energy needs are getting another boost thanks to a first-ever hybrid solar and wind energy contract with projected savings of at least $168 million in energy costs over the next few decades at Fort Hood.

DLA forging and casting investment continues to provide returns 25 years later

In the early 1990s, Defense Logistics Agency recognized the need to invest in future technology; the agency saw that some once-robust domestic supply chains were disappearing, fragmenting or going overseas. Now, 25-plus years later, the agency’s forging and casting initiative is yielding benefits from knowledge shared by industry, the military services and DLA Aviation.

Republic of Austria Army visits DLA Distribution
