Subsistence leaders gather employee feedback during brown bag lunches

PHILADELPHIA — Senior leaders with the Subsistence supply chain gathered feedback from nearly 90 percent of their employees over six months to better understand the culture.

Subsistence PaCER helps provide new performance bar to Army recruits

PHILADELPHIA — Army recruits in basic combat training will start eating nutritional snack bars this summer to help prevent injuries. And an employee in training at the DLA Troop Support is largely responsible for procuring the vitamin-packed treats for recruits.

Medical employee maintains cold chain, saves money, earns DOD award

PHILADELPHIA — When DLA sends vaccines and drugs to military medical facilities, Dana Dallas ensures there are no weak links in the cold chain. The Medical supply chain employee earned the Defense Department’s Packaging Excellence Award in a ceremony in Rockaway, N.J., May 10.

Les Cruise, a World War II veteran, relates stories of his experiences in Europe as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, including the painful losses of his friends during combat, to the Naval Support Activity Philadelphia workforce during a Memorial Day observance May 18.

D-Day veteran reflects during Memorial Day observance

PHILADELPHIA — A World War II combat veteran offered a narrative of his military service in Europe to Naval Support Activity Philadelphia employees as part of a Memorial Day observance May 18.

Nancy Martin, Troop Support Medical supply chain, accepted the gold medal on behalf of the Medical Surgical Prime Vendor team for the Economy in Government Operations Achievement award at the Excellence in Government Awards ceremony in Philadelphia May 18. PHILADELPHIA — Several Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees were recognized for their public service contributions during an award ceremony May 18.

Philadelphia — DLA Chief Information Officer Kathy Cutler led a town hall at DLA Troop Support April 26 that focused on providing information about the agency’s IT overhaul.

Industrial Hardware closes 'March Madness' with surge of contract awards

PHILADELPHIA — The Industrial Hardware supply chain at DLA Troop Support held its own “March Madness” competition in which employees rallied to complete 2,716 purchase requests with backorders. They also put on a full court press to award 97 first-article test contracts.

Fun at work: employees’ children visit NSA Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — More than 440 children accompanied their parents for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day April 27 at NSA Philadelphia. about how their parents contribute to the missions of DLA Troop Support and NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support.

Employees from the DLA Troop Support Industrial Hardware supply chain participate in a Cross Function Day activity in the Bldg. 6 auditorium April 6. Personnel worked in small teams to construct military service insignia with hardware managed by the IH supply chain. The Cross Function Day event was designed to boost information-sharing across the supply chain’s diverse units and functions.

DLA Distribution commander discusses warfighter support with Troop Support leaders

PHILADELPHIA — The DLA Distribution commander touted how his team works with DLA Troop Support to provide the best warfighter support at the best value for the Department of Defense during a visit to Philadelphia April 7.

Service members observe the 2016 Passover holiday at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. DLA Troop Support provided 223 Seder kits, which contain matzah, a shank bone and other religious items, for Jewish service members who celebrate the eight-day festival of Passover.

Troop Support provides religious support during April holidays

PHILADELPHIA — Service members who celebrate Passover, Palm Sunday and Easter this month will do so with the help of DLA Troop Support.
