Survivor’s daughter keeps Holocaust story alive

PHILADELPHIA — Helen Rieder promised her dying father that she would share their traumatic experiences from the Holocaust. Her daughter carried on that promise when she spoke to DLA Troop Support employees April 26 during the Holocaust Remembrance program.

Fun at work: employees’ children visit NSA Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — More than 440 children accompanied their parents for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day April 27 at NSA Philadelphia. about how their parents contribute to the missions of DLA Troop Support and NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support.

Troop Support hosts World Café as gateway to diversity, inclusion

PHILADELPHIA — Twenty employees gathered April 12 for three rounds of dialogue on diversity, trust and how to navigate difficult communications during a World Café event.

Employees from the DLA Troop Support Industrial Hardware supply chain participate in a Cross Function Day activity in the Bldg. 6 auditorium April 6. Personnel worked in small teams to construct military service insignia with hardware managed by the IH supply chain. The Cross Function Day event was designed to boost information-sharing across the supply chain’s diverse units and functions.

DLA Distribution commander discusses warfighter support with Troop Support leaders

PHILADELPHIA — The DLA Distribution commander touted how his team works with DLA Troop Support to provide the best warfighter support at the best value for the Department of Defense during a visit to Philadelphia April 7.

Service members observe the 2016 Passover holiday at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. DLA Troop Support provided 223 Seder kits, which contain matzah, a shank bone and other religious items, for Jewish service members who celebrate the eight-day festival of Passover.

Troop Support provides religious support during April holidays

PHILADELPHIA — Service members who celebrate Passover, Palm Sunday and Easter this month will do so with the help of DLA Troop Support.

PHILADELPHIA — Stretching a dollar just got easier for U.S. military medical personnel across the globe. Acquisition professionals at DLA Troop Support are implementing a new medical and surgical prime vendor program, which is projected to save $168 million over 10 years.

DLA Joint Reserve Force director visits Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — Military reservists already contribute to the DLA Troop Support mission. And the director of DLA’s Joint Reserve Force wants to know how they can do more. Navy Rear Adm. Deborah Haven returned to her hometown of Philadelphia March 23 to discuss the role of reservists with DLA Troop Support leaders.

Troop Support 'trailblazers' honored at Women's History Month program

PHILADELPHIA — Three Troop Support employees were honored for their contributions to the advancement of women during the Women's History Month program March 21. A local educator also spoke about American women who overcame challenges to advance in business and labor.

Former DLA Vice Director Mae DeVincentis speaks about her career, which began in Philadelphia, in a video made in honor of Women's History Month. DeVincentis was inducted into Troop Support’s Hall of Fame in 2003.

Customers can now rely on DLA for medical kits containing a wide selection of items, such as pharmaceuticals, instruments, bandages, splints and needles, in the quantities they require.

DLA Troop Support's Nuclear Enterprise Support Office was established to coordinate the support that its five supply chains provide to nuclear weapons systems platforms, including submarines, aircraft carriers and strategic, long-range bombers.
